Babystrik på pinde 3

I first wrote this post in danish... seems that my brain automatically swithced to danish as the title was in danish.

Pattern is from the leaflet/book = Babystrik på pinde 3
Yarn= pink is Dale royal alpakka, and needles 2.5 and 2
Red is tynn alpakka and needles 3 and 2.5

Modification pink -  casted on for the smallest size and knitted the length of the next size.
Modification red - ended up doing the same modification as for the pink, as it seems that I knitted very loosely the red one and it seemed to wide compared to the length so I also increased the length for that size.

The pink one was intended for my 2 1/2 month old, and the red was intended as the first thing in my gift basket/drawer. Seems that I will be keeping the red one as well....

Lopapeysa-update

The sweater for my dad´s 60th birthday is almost finished, I just need to weave in ends, wash it , go with the sweater to get the perfect length of zipper, go with the sweater to my mom´s friend who installes zippers in Icelandic sweaters for a reasonable fee.

More wardrobe updates

The pixiehat I made for my 2 1/2 year old had widened a lot so it was not that practicale to use any more (wind in ears).  I therefore decided to pick up stitches and knit pink-orange-neon edge to close the gap.. I debated to crochet .. but was more comfortable that knitting would give me a better looking result.

Doll Clothes

I´ve been planning to knit doll clothes for a while as my daughter´s doll clothes wardrobe is very minimal.
Finally got around to it after inspiration from tovrange

I did not use any pattern just eye-balled it , I knitted this from the bottom up, very similar to one of the pickles patterns (but probably very different method of getting the results). I used 2 strands of dale baby ull, and I have no idea of what needle size I used , I just grabbed some that seemed to do the trick.

I have already started on a doll cardigan. Since this is so quick to knit with double yarn I´m already having some more ideas on how to destash all the baby-yarn and make doll clothes. Next on the agenda are ribbed pants for the doll (should be able to fit more than one of her dolls).

May the force be with you

We met with friends yesterday (yearly gathering) were we ate good food and had a game with home-made gifts.

I made these two hat´s, the guys in this group are avid Star wars fan´s so I decided two make a hat with Star wars theme. I didn´t stop at one and made two, and I had idéas for many more (but didn´t have time to knit more). I used only leftover yarn so I got to destash a bit.

Pattern for hat 1: turn a square, yarn (navia trio and some other yarn for the letters)
Pattern for hat 2: from norway with love  , yarn (navia duo)

Old cardigan get´s a new life

I added a neon orange crochet edging around a purple cardigan I knitted while pregnant in 2010.  Here is a picture of the previous owner in the sweater.

And here is a picture of little sister in the same cardigan,

There is now one button missing, it is really a shame since now there is a bit to much space between the remaining buttons and I couldn´t been bothered to move one of the buttons. I never really used this cardigan for my older girl, as it is a bit thick. It was more spur of the moment thing. I'm also planning to improve my non-existing crochet skills this year so it is about time to start.. almost one quartal of the year finished.

Closer look at the crochet edging.

I love the fact that I picked out this neon orange when I was a kid and that this is leftovers from when my mom knitted me a neon orange sweater :)
