Real men knit

We went to an open air museum today ("árbæjarsafn") and there was one of the staff members knitting it reminded me of greatgrandmothers brother who was always knitting, and other men in my family that were knitters. The staff is supposed to represent they way of life in the past in Reykjavik.

I also loved all the knitted traditional Icelandic triangle shawls that the staff wore

My dad and my 3 year old, however seemed to love the "kassabílar" the most.

Confessions of a yarnholic

I bought more Lerke on sale this spring, and I knitted this sommer a Cardigan in 6-12 months size aprox.
It fits my 7 month old now with room to grow, but it is not for her, it is a gift. I don´t think the recipient reads my blog so I think I´m safe to post it.

The pattern is from the booklet - Babystrik på pinde 3.

Wool in use

My older daughter just turned three and she is still wearing a cardigan I made for her when she was 18 months old.

These pictures were taken at her 3 year old birthday party (I´m a big fan of comfortable children´s clothes).

I´ve finished one cardigan and one sweater  and just need to make the finishing touches before I can show you them, otherwise it has been a slow summer, not much knitting done.  If you wan´t to know more about the cardigan you can read about it here
