Dress to Impress

My sister in law asked my for ideas on a pattern for a dress for her 8 year old girl.  Here are some of the ideas I gave her, we however have very different taste so I´m not sure she will knit any of them. But these are patterns that I could see myself knit, or at least some version of them.

Beanie

I tried my hand at this pattern again, and used fewer stitches, a lot fewer 108 stitches.  But should have made it rather 96 stitches, since it grew alot with wear.  Yarn from my winter sweater ( Sandnes Silk Mohair, and Einband from Istex)

I´m still working on my Camomille shawl, I don´t have much time to knit so it grows slowly but I can´t wait for it to be finished so I can start wearing it.

Hoping for Spring

Winter is still here, but my knitting is going towards spring.

I´ve started on Camomille shawl, which I have been planning to knit for several years. Finally started and can´t wait to finish it.

Winter is here

First thing made for me this year (well second if you count the beanie I made and haven´t shown you).  I finally finished it yesterday, but the weather was not really in the same birthday mood as I was, so these pictures will have to do.

There is no pattern, just a simple raglan sweater, made from Mohair silk from Sandnes, and Einband.  These two make a lovely combination.

apart from the weather I got some really nice birthday presents, like the Sjónabók (700 pages of  patterns and ornamets from Iceland, these charts are from the 17th, 18th and the 19th century).

And I also got another pattern book, this one is from Faroe Islands, and a bit different than the Icelandic book, more graphic and simple patterns, but some are similar, but the Faroe island patterns are more simple.

I love both my new books, and I already have a lot of ideas, but this 24 hours a day thing is not working in my favor right now.
